1. Collect raw camel milk and strain it. Filter it and make sure it is free of debris, hair, and impurities.
2. Separate the liquid from the solids. You can either do this by a process of centrifugation or by draining the liquid through a filter cloth.
3. Heat the liquid camel milk to a temperature of 180°F (82°C). This will denature the proteins and makes the milk easier to dry.
4. During the heating process add some form of stabilizer or preservative to the camel milk. Some examples of stabilizers include sodium phosphate or sodium citrate.
5. Once the temperature has been reached, let the camel milk cool to room temperature.
6. Place the cooled camel milk into the freeze-drier. As this appliance significantly reduces the time needed to dry, it is the best solution for making dried camel milk powder.
7. Set the temperature on the freeze-drier to -40 degrees Celsius and the pressure to 0.06 bar. This is the ideal vacuum setting for optimal results.
8. Begin the freeze-drying process and let it run until the moisture content has been reduced to 3%. This usually takes anywhere between 24 to 36 hours.
9. Once the freeze-drying process has been completed, sieve the powder to remove any chunks and particles.
10. Place the sieved powder in an airtight container or packaging and store it in a cool, dry, and dark place. This will help to prolong the shelf life of the powder.
11. Enjoy the camel milk powder and its many health benefits!
